Why Boundary Street?

In the early days of our focus on digital infrastructure and services, few other lending firms had deep expertise due to residual scars from the dot-com bust or an unwillingness to lend to asset-light businesses. This enabled our team to build a strong reputation as a leader in the digital infrastructure and services lending sectors.  As the world gained increasing awareness of the strength, durability and criticality of businesses in our sectors, markets became more efficient and many lending firms raised increasingly larger pools of capital to focus in our sectors. More capital and larger firms eventually moved these players towards larger transactions and left an underserved population of smaller businesses without access to knowledgeable sector-focused direct lending partners. We appreciated that this market niche was a perfect opportunity to apply our long tenure of expertise and help smaller businesses in our sector grow to be the leading businesses tomorrow.

Describe your professional journey

After graduating from the College of William and Mary in 2005, I spent an exciting few years as a Management Risk Consultant for Protiviti, Inc. where I had the chance to travel the world and work primarily with financial services clients reviewing complex financial processes and transactions. Just as the Great Financial Crisis was growing, I was asked to join my then client, CapitalSource Inc., as a Credit Analyst in the Corporate Finance division. After spending invaluable time managing portfolio credits throughout the crisis, I was selected for the Technology Investment Team focusing on digital infrastructure and technology. I was passionate about technology and internet infrastructure and grew to ultimately lead the firm’s Digital Infrastructure lending team.
